An actually complete undub, unlike the old and very much spotty copy-and-paste one by Zauroid. And there's English patch / localisation backport for Tenchu 4 Plus as well.
※ The localised PSP port of the game made a mess out of SFX sound banks with its additional, exclusive entries, so the end result of the undub is not 100% accurate to the Japanese version of the game due to guesswork involved with replacement of those extra voice clips. A potential update or perhaps a third-party addendum might iron-out the few remaining inaccuracies in the future, though.
※ Tenchu 4 Plus English localisation backport is of course completely accurate SFX-wise compared to the undub, but the game uses a different, larger font than the vanilla localised version of the game, so it ends up having a different feel aesthetically. Plus-exclusive text can be pretty rough at the moment, there might be some minor text alignment or crunch issues, and the save/load/home system menus are not translated on real PSP/Vita hardware – you can use
LangSwapper if it bothers you too much.
※ There are no subtitles outside of the cutscenes, just like in the Wii version. And if you're playing in FIGS languages, the "guiding voice" will be mute during the tutorials, which is an issue with the regular NA/EU versions of the game, so keep that in mind.
As before, I would recommend playing the
Wii original over the PSP port if you can.
